On a walk
A location-based project in which myself and my brothers, Breandán, Dónal and Oisín, produce and perform a set of site-specific video songs. Each walk draws together creative professionals from across the globe to join the team for a special few days.
The more walks we embark on, the bigger the TW family grows as we enlist the help of producers, photographers, artists and audio and video engineers. The feeling of family is never far away. Remember, "Tourist Walk is not a band...... it's a Concept."
So far, the project has taken us back to our home town of Warrenpoint(Co. Down), to Donegal, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Dublin and London, and as far afield as Ghent(Belgium) and Skellefteå(Norrland, Sweden). Where will it take us next?
THE WHITE ALBUM: LIVE
For the 50th anniversary of the release of The Beatles' White Album, brothers Lewis and Ewan Gibson approached me to MD a performance of the record in full, from start to finish featuring a hand-picked session band including singers Daniel McGeever and Jon McKenzie and experiemental improv trio S!nk, commisioned to produce the ambitious Revolution 9.
The project sold out the 2018 anniversay concert at The Voodoo Rooms, 50 years to the day. Two final shows were announced the following year, one at Glasgow's Oran Mór, and the other at The Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh, which was filmed and recorded. The first showing of this footage was one of the highlights of early Lockdown 2020, streaming to tens of thousands of online viewers.
