STREAMCYCLE #7
The Beatles Special

In July 2020 we launched StreamCycle PRO. The exclusive programme, which ran for just over 2 months, was a membership subscription which allowed us to pay all musicians properly and consistently. Subscribers were given access to 3 gigs a month as well as extra bonus material and post-gig Zoom debriefs. We kicked it all off with this beast of a show with Jon Mackenzie, William Douglas and Daniel McGeever leading with their very best Beatles choices.

STREAMCYCLE #8
Nicole Smit &
Charlie Wild

Our PRO membership continued with another blues special. This gig was actually  pretty much a non event, as my own connectivity became faulty, shutting the entire operation down. So simple. It was an incredibly disappointing blow given how much effort everyone had put in. But we decided to try again a few weeks later.

This time, it was a roaring success, with a particular mention for Charlie Wild who managed to play the entire gig in an accompanying role in first position, meaning at no point could he hear Nicole, the lead singer, as we had integrated her on the tech side of things into pos. 2.

STREAMCYCLE #9
Stevie Wonder
Special

It was my turn in pos. 1 again. I used my extensive knowledge of Stevie Wonder's back catalogue to put this set together. We also integrated our newest musician to the family, bassist Dougie Coulter. And for this special show, he was joined by Fiona Lynch on vocals. This was the first time we experimented with splitting the stereo signal in two to send a click track down one channel (L) and my keyboards and vocals down the other (R) - an idea which I would amplify with Mark II.

STREAMCYCLE #10
Kevin Barrett &
Mike Kearney

It occurred to me about a month previous that, unlike any other remote music collaboration method, StreamCycle is not limited by distance. So I thought, who do I know who lives on the other side of the planet. Low and behold, there's this duo gig with Kevin Barrett from Toronto, Canada. This turned out to be the only gig where we used the 'switch'. Using the 'switch' we were able to swap who was sending the initial stream, meaning I could accompany Kevin for the first half of the gig, and he could accompany me for the second. Kevin remains as one of our session lead guitarists till this day.

STREAMCYCLE #11
Kyle Morgan &
Tica Douglas

Another trans-atlantic collaboration saw singer-songwriters Kyle and Tica join us for a fun and exuberant show. Everything went right with this one. Kyle and Tica were both playing an afternoon slot form the east coast of the US, but it didn't stop them form bringing an adult dose of magic. A great night for StreamCyle!

STREAMCYCLE #12
The Marriage

Kirsten Adamson got in touch with me a few months previous expressing an interest in the method. I agreed to reveal all and incorporate her and David Burn(The Marriage) into our StreamCycle PRO programme. This turned out to be the last show for subscribers only, at the end of August 2020.

But Kirsten has since contracted StreamCycle to put on her own exclusive show integrating session musicians in London and Brooklyn, New York. From start to finish, StreamCycle #12 was lush, relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable for all. We were getting good at this!
