My New Orleans Piano solo project continues to grow and grow. I'm expanding my venue pool with performances at Brewhemia, Edinburgh Street Food, The Jazz Bar, The Oracle and, as always, good old Mathers. I'm particular thrilled with my debut last week at The Windsor on Elm Row; A super vibey and cool pub which has a lot to offer. I played not only for the punters in the pub but for the busy Leith Walk passers-by outside the window next to me - they stopped, they watched, they cheered, they danced, they applauded. What a great gig! I'm back there Nov 1. For all gig listings check out the WHAT'S ON Section via the button below...
Here's a little ditty from my Mathers residency - Sweet sue:
The Keybird has been all over. Here's a pic from Kelburn Garden Party as myself and the Tenement Jazz Band entertained the festival goers on a lazy Sunday Morning before we trekked it up the mountain for an intimate performance with amazing views overlooking the glen of Largs.
It's a fair amount of effort ot get the piano out of the flat, into the car, into the venue and back again. But I'm tweaking my setup to include lifting straps, special hooks to replace the wooden legs during transport, and industrial strength foam to faciilate a one-manned lifting maneourve into the boot of the ford fiesta. The gigs and the joy brought to the listeners makes it all worth it.
